    03/18/19 - IBEW Local 768
    The meeting in Missoula is changing locations! We are combining the ATT/DTV and Inside Construction bargaining unit meetings into one. It will still be on the third Thursday of the month, beginning March 21st, 2019. The meeting will be held at the U of M in the TODD Building at 6:00pm.  See the campus map by clicking on the links below.
    YRC Contract Update
    03/18/19 - Teamsters Local 89
    Mar 18, 2019 - Teamsters Local 89 has received an update from the IBT concerning contract negotiations with YRC. This agreement covers YRC Freight, USF Holland, and New Penn. In the update, which you can read here, the IBT reports that there has been slow progress on monetary issues. Talks are scheduled to resume this week. The current agreement is set to expire on March 31st.

    Teamster employees who work for TeamCare and the Central States Pension Fund have voted to strike. The rain and cold couldn’t stop over 200 Teamster employees from Standing Strong on day one of the strike. One of the major issues is production standards for call-center workers. The members will be back on the strike line on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 6 am.

    March 15, 2019 -- This most recent negotiation session held in Dallas, TX over the past three very long days, March 12-14, 2019, concluded at 3:15am this morning without a final resolution. While we are disappointed, both sides worked hard and significant progress was made during this session. We are encouraged that our efforts have put an agreement within reach, and we are continuing to work on a deal that the members can vote on. We also are in the process of scheduling our next session, should it be needed, and are hopeful we can reach a conclusion to this long negotiation process.

    As a result of many discussions that occurred between our IBEW leadership and AT&T all involuntary force reductions were pulled down. Hundreds of jobs in many different departments would have been lost if these conversations didn’t occur. IBEW workforce reductions across all departments in the second quarter of 2019 will occur with only volunteers accepting separation packages. The results of everyone’s efforts have paid off. While no one can guarantee what may happen in the future, today we all can breathe a sigh of relief.

    “We learned yesterday that the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) denied a request by Kansas City Southern Railway (KCSR) to outsource safety-sensitive brake tests to Mexico. In its decision, the FRA correctly told KCSR that their request — which TTD and our rail unions strongly opposed — was ‘not in the public interest or consistent with railroad safety.’ We could not agree more.

    Workers at ACCO Brands plant in Sidney, N.Y., have ratified a contract extension calling for a 2.5 percent wage increase retroactive to January 1, 2019.
